- Total Healing Time: 7–14 days.
- Full Color Development: 4–6 weeks as pigment softens and settles.
- Touch-Up Appointment: 6–8 weeks after your first session.
- What to Expect: Lips may look bold, bright, dark, or uneven before softening — this is normal.
- Days 0–2 — Protection Phase: Lips are fresh and sensitive — treat them gently.
- Blotting: Blot lips gently every 30 minutes during the first few hours to absorb lymph.
- Healing Ointment: Apply a thin layer as directed by your artist.
- No Contact: No kissing, touching, rubbing, or picking.
- Drinking: Drink through a straw to avoid getting lips wet.
- Food: Avoid spicy, salty, acidic foods during this phase.
- Avoid Heat: No sweating or heat exposure (gym, sauna, steam).
- Sleep: Sleep slightly elevated on a clean pillowcase.
- Normal: Mild swelling or tightness is expected.
- Days 3–5 — Exfoliation Phase: Light peeling or flaking begins — do not pick.
- Ointment: Continue applying a thin layer as needed.
- No Scrubbing: Do not exfoliate or scrub the lips.
- Showering: Avoid long hot showers over the face.
- No Makeup: Do not apply makeup on or around the lips.
- Avoid Sun: Keep lips out of direct sunlight.
- Normal: Patchiness or fading during this phase is expected.
- Days 6–14 — Softening Phase: Your healed color begins to appear.
- Moisturizer: Switch to a non-petroleum moisturizer as needed.
- No Whitening Toothpaste: It can burn healing skin — avoid until fully healed.
- No Steam: Avoid pools, saunas, steam rooms.
- Avoid Heat: No spicy foods or excessive heat exposure.
- Outcome: Lips look softer, lighter, and more natural as they develop.
- After 14 Days: You may resume normal lip care.
- SPF: Begin using SPF lip balm to preserve color.
- Makeup: Lipstick and gloss may be used again.
- Ongoing Color: Final color continues developing over 4–6 weeks.
- Avoid (Very Important): Picking or peeling, kissing or friction, waxing/threading/bleaching around the mouth, whitening toothpaste, hot/spicy/salty foods, long sun exposure, heat exposure, makeup on lips until fully healed.
- Normal: Mild swelling, tenderness, uneven color, light peeling, temporary fading.
- Not Normal: Pus, yellow discharge, spreading redness, severe swelling, worsening pain, fever, red streaking — call 1-855-313-1114.
Long-Term Lip Blush Care: Use SPF lip balm daily, stay hydrated, avoid frequent exfoliating, schedule touch-ups every 12–24 months.
